Women’s History Month - Celebrating Women In Art

Posted by East End Prints on 27th Feb 2023

While we obviously love to celebrate our phenomenal female artists all year round, we thought Women’s History Month might be the perfect opportunity to shine the spotlight on some of the brilliant and beautiful female-focused art prints created by our community.

These prints are about creating a space that leaves you feeling inspired, whilst celebrating the women who continue to leave a mark with their work.

Why Celebrate Women’s History Month?

Women's History Month in the UK is celebrated every March and is an opportunity to recognize and honour the contributions of women throughout history. This month provides a platform to celebrate the achievements and struggles of women who have paved the way for gender equality.

Art can be a powerful tool to help us celebrate women during Women's History Month. Through art, we can highlight the lives and accomplishments of women who have significantly impacted their respective fields. Art can also raise awareness about the challenges that women face, both past and present, and inspire future generations to work towards an equal society.

Through these gorgeous art prints we are able to appreciate and celebrate all things female. Whether that’s portraits or illustrations that add energy to our spaces, or it’s feminist art prints and designs that are all about empowerment.

Celebrating Our Talented Artists

We have hundreds of incredible female artists producing work designed to uplift and inspire other women. Here are just a couple of the brilliant artists that you will find amongst the many stunning prints in our store.

Oh Fine! Art

Oh Fine! Art Studio brilliantly manages to merge old and new to create thoughtful and humorous prints that channel girl power while combining old world paintings, vintage imagery, and modern-day quotes.

Their prints are fun and fierce and look brilliant in any office, bedroom, or really any space in the home.

Hannah recently showcased her work at the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair, where her work ‘I’ll Bring You Flowers’ was nominated for the Boodle Hatfield Printmaking Prize. Arty Guava

Lay Hoon also known as Arty Guava is an artist and illustrator living in Vancouver, Canada. She was born and raised in Malaysia, and in her work we can see that her aesthetic is heavily influenced by Asian culture and her relationship with the natural world. Her style is bold and beautiful – a great celebration of women.

Art and Women’s History Month

Art prints can transform a room and there are so many ways to incorporate powerful and energising messages into your favourite spaces. You could try some feminist prints that inspire you or perhaps some pops of colour that add some energy to your space.

We love typographic prints that offer a pick me up. They can act as a way of gathering daily inspiration to go out and smash your day and the often bright colours are perfect for a space that needs an injection of life.

We also love the feel good vibes of feminist art prints. There’s nothing better than filling a room with art that’s fun and meaningful.
