Black Cat On Windowsill

Majukooo’s expressive and charmingly naive illustration captures a cosy domestic moment with a black cat perched upon a wooden windowsill. Majukooo uses textured brushstrokes and a muted palette to create a sense of quiet home life, while the pops of red floral detail add lovely botanical interest that brings a wonderfully warm, lived-in feel to a kitchen or study.

Majukooo is Maja Szotkiewicz, an illustrator and Belfast School of Art graduate based in Northern Ireland. She hand illustrates all of her work using ink applied with a wooden spoon (instead of a paintbrush), wax pastels and poster paint which allow her to fearlessly and freely bring her ideas to life.
