The Great Wave off Kanagawa is an iconic woodblock print created by the Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai. It is one of the most iconic and recognised artworks in the world of Japanese, or indeed global, art.
The print is part of a series called "Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji," which was produced between 1826 and 1833 during the Edo period in Japan. "The Great Wave" is the most well-known piece from this series.
