The Lucky Cat
By Limbo and Ginger
About The Artwork & Artist
Limbo and Ginger pay homage to Japanese folklore with this striking, high-contrast The Lucky Cat print. Bold, protective, and enigmatic, this artwork makes an instant statement in any contemporary space. The high-contrast red and black palette delivers a sharp, graphic look, celebrating the black cat not as a shadow, but as a classic symbol of prosperity and good fortune. Complete the look and frame this print in our sleek black.
Limbo and Ginger (better known to people who know them as Liam and Sarah) are a happily married artist duo based in Manchester. When they're not running around after their two little boys, they are designing all sorts of nice happy eclectic stuff for people to hang in their homes! Inspired by 1970s design, Limbo and Ginger's work is always bright, jazzy and full of fun!
Artwork description: Set against a textured red background with a black and red double border, a sleek black cat silhouette stands in profile. Above it, the words "KURO NEKO" are rendered in large, bubbly, black retro-styled letters. Centred beneath the English text is the Japanese Kanji for "black cat" (黒猫), alongside a small "The Lucky Cat" label. The cat has simple, glowing yellow-orange eyes that match the subtle drop shadows of the typography.
