East End Prints takes a look at our long standing relationship with our friends at the East London Design Show

East London Design Show turns twenty one this year, and we are thrilled to join the celebration!
We have had a long standing relationship with East London Design Show, first exhibiting in the basement of the Shoreditch Town Hall when I launched East End Arts Club events . Our first exhibition back in December 2008, was the
The One Ton Show 100 graphic artists for £100 . 100 artists, graphic designers, illustrators, printmakers and photographers interpreted the brief 'London Lyrics'.
Here is a glimpse of where it all started.

We are pleased to continue to sell some of the original artists we discovered back then such as Nick Boyce, Anthony Peters, Philip Sheffield, Claudia Tate, Of Life and Lemons (Angie Freese) and People Will Always Need Plates.
We had queues round the block to snap up Daisy De Villeneuve and Ben Allen prints and originals and some really cool people came to the opening . We even had EMI contact us wanting 15% of our takings for the use of the musical lyrics featured in the work.
We have all grown up a bit since then, some have babies, others have divorce but luckily we are all still being creative and supporting ourselves doing what we believe in.
East End Prints was born out of the passion to support such talent onto print.
6 years on and we are pleased to come out of the dark basement and be part of a network of local independent businesses and designer makers who make up this brilliant event.
Hope to see you there!
