Supporting independent Artists with every sale

Supporting independent Artists with every sale

17th Oct 2023

Here at East End Prints, we pride ourselves on creating a supportive community for emerging Artist.

In an age of saturation we understand the importance of conscious spending. We think that it's important to show you where your money goes and who better to tell you than one of our fabulous Artists Keren Parmley.

What is the best thing that has happened to you whilst working with East End Prints?

Googling my name one day not too long after our partnership began to see how my website SEO was and seeing my work for sale in John Lewis, scrolling a bit further and seeing it in Debenhams, along with some other big stores as well as loads of independents, which is just as important to me. I trained in Fine Art, my course and the art scene in my area was and still is really heavy on conceptual art, which focuses on the ideals and purposes of art rather than the actual work of art. So people putting you know a plank of wood in a gallery space and having a 3 page meaning behind it, that short of art. Whereas what I’m doing now is putting visual work out for the sole purpose of it looking good and to fill a space in someones home. It goes against everything I was taught for all those years, so I’m always full of self doubt when putting new products out. To see it being sold in shops is super amazing and gives me more confidence to carry on creating work, doing what I love and growing my business. Friends often send me links to my work in online shops as well as pictures where they have seen it in physical shops, it’s great.

Why do you like working with east end prints?

They are a reputable company, with great company ethics and ideals. They are really on it in terms of attending trade shows, and working to get your products in shops which is great for brand awareness as well as you get paid. Our partnership began at a particularly good time for me as I was just going on maternity leave which meant East End Prints were still getting my work out there while I was in a position where I couldn’t.

How did you start working with east end prints?
I was following them on social media and thought they were a reputable and quality company with some great artwork for sale so I emailed them one day to put my work forward to be considered for partnering with them. I hadn’t long launched myself and I didn’t hear anything back for ages so I just thought it wasn’t happening but an email popped up one day. Supported? Yes they are a lovely team. My accounts manager Sophia is always at the other end of an email or the phone. I’m really enjoying working with them.
Whether you prefer Abstract Paintings, Music and Film, clean Typography or Retro prints you can share the love this gifting season, for your loved ones and independent Artists.
