Licensing FAQs for Artists

Everything you need to know about how our licensing works.

What does "licensing" mean?

Licensing is a legal agreement that allows us to use your artwork on agreed products, for specific purposes, while you keep full ownership of your work. You're giving permission to use your art — not selling it.

What will my artwork be used for?

Your artwork may be reproduced on approved products that we agree on together, such as prints or other formats. All usage is clearly defined in advance so you know exactly how and where your work appears.

Do I keep the copyright to my artwork?

Yes. You always retain full copyright and ownership of your artwork. Licensing does not transfer ownership, and your rights as the artist remain protected at all times.

Are usage rights limited?

Yes. All rights are agreed upfront and clearly outlined, including:
  • Territory — where the artwork can be sold
  • Time period — how long the licence lasts
  • Product type — which products your artwork can appear on
Nothing is open-ended or unclear.

How do royalties work?

You earn royalty-based payments from sales of products featuring your artwork. When your work sells, you get paid. Royalties are calculated transparently and paid on an agreed schedule.

Can I still sell or license my artwork elsewhere?

Yes. Because you retain copyright, you're free to continue selling, exhibiting, or licensing your artwork elsewhere, unless we've specifically agreed to exclusive terms for certain uses.

Is the agreement flexible?

Very much so. Our licensing model is designed to support flexible, scalable creative partnerships. You can start with one artwork and grow your collection with us over time.

How clear is the agreement?

We believe in clarity and fairness. Our agreements provide a clear, structured framework for collaboration, written in plain English so you know exactly where you stand.
